RSV

My six month old nephew is in the hospital with RSV right now.  He got admitted yesterday evening because his oxygen levels were too low.  They have him hooked up to all kind of shit that he’s not fond of.  I tell you what, having to help hold down one of the loves of your life while they stick a needle in his foot was not fun at all.  I cried with him.  I had his head and one of his hands, and he kept leaning toward  me as if to say “Save me Auntie Bambi”.  Heart was broken.  All I could do was rub his head and hand and tell him it was gonna be okay and hum a little baby tune in his ear.  The minute they were done I ordered his mother to scoop him up.  She was wating for the okay to do it.  I’m not much into waiting.  I can’t go see him today because I work in a public place and it’s very contagious and dangerous for babies.  I see babies every day, and a couple girls I work with have babies at home.  It sucks because I want to go hold him and love on him.  He’ll be fine, that I know.  I just hate seeing anyone I love in the hospital.  As do most people.  Such is life though.
